While many refer to “SR-22 insurance”, an SR-22 is actually a Certificate of Financial Responsibility (CFR) required by the state and provided by your Auto Insurance Company that verifies you have auto insurance liability coverage. You only need an SR-22 if a judge says you do. If you’re required to carry an SR-22 and you already have insurance, you’ll just need to add it to your policy. If you’re not insured, you’ll quote an auto policy and an SR-22.
